“WHERE IS THE PROMISE OF HIS COMING?” People mock the return of Jesus like the Bible didn’t already tell us they would. “Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of his coming?” 2 Peter 3:3–4 KJV Their argument is that life keeps going, so the promise must be empty. Peter calls it willing ignorance. “For this they willingly are ignorant…” 2 Peter 3:5 KJV They ignore the God who created the world and judged it with a Flood. God has intervened before. He will again. Jesus said people were eating, drinking, and marrying right up until Noah entered the ark. They carried on until the Flood came and took them away. He warned that His coming would be the same. Matthew 24:37–39 So why hasn’t He returned yet? “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us‐ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” 2 Peter 3:9 KJV People mistake God’s patience for an empty promise while He gives them time to repent. Peter follows that with a warning. “But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night.” 2 Peter 3:10 KJV The same passage that foretold their mockery promises His coming. Jesus will return. Nobody’s ridicule can stop Him. #MoreJoyMinistries
