I WAS LOOKING FOR HAPPINESS. WHAT I NEEDED WAS JOY. I spent years chasing happiness and never finding anything that lasted. It took me a long time to realize joy was what I had been searching for. That’s why joy is my favorite fruit of the Spirit. It’s also where More Joy Ministries gets its name. “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance” Galatians 5:22–23 KJV Look at where joy comes from. Paul calls it the fruit of the Spirit. You cannot buy it or build a life comfortable enough to guarantee it. It grows through your relationship with the Lord. There’s nothing wrong with enjoying a good day. But if your peace depends on everything going your way, one phone call can wreck it. The joy found in Christ reaches deeper than circumstances. You can grieve, struggle, and have a rough day without losing the reason you have hope. Jesus is still your Saviour. His promises still stand. Your trouble has not changed where you’re spending eternity. Paul and Silas were beaten and thrown in prison. At midnight, the other prisoners heard them praying and singing praises to God. They had plenty to complain about, but they still had a reason to praise Him. Acts 16:22–25 Jesus said, “your joy no man taketh from you.” John 16:22 KJV That doesn’t mean a Christian never feels sadness. Jesus wept. Joy isn’t pretending everything is fine. It’s knowing the Lord is faithful when everything hurts. I named this ministry More Joy because I want people to find in Jesus what I spent years looking for everywhere else. “in thy presence is fulness of joy” Psalm 16:11 KJV I still enjoy being happy. But I no longer expect this world to give me what can only be found in the Lord. #MoreJoyMinistries
