EVERY WORD SATAN HAS SPOKEN IN SCRIPTURE: This study is heavy because Scripture does not record Satan talking very often. When God lets us hear Satan’s words, He is showing us how the enemy thinks, how he twists truth, how he attacks faith, how he accuses believers, and how he comes after the Word of God. Satan has a pattern. He questions God’s Word. He contradicts God’s Word. He slanders God’s character. He offers shortcuts without the cross. He accuses the saints. He wants worship. And he always talks like he knows better than God. The first recorded words of Satan are in the garden. Genesis 3:1 “Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?” That is the first satanic sentence recorded in the Bible. A question. He does not begin with a pitchfork. He begins with doubt. “Did God really say?” That is still his favorite line. He does not need to destroy your Bible if he can make you doubt it. He does not need to make you hate God if he can make you suspicious of God. He comes to Eve and attacks the Word before he attacks the woman. The battlefield has always been the Word of God. Genesis 3:4 “And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:” Now he moves from questioning God to contradicting God. God said: Genesis 2:17 “For in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.” Satan says: “Ye shall not surely die.” Same subject. Opposite message. That is satanic doctrine in its purest form. God says death. Satan says life. God says judgment. Satan says nothing will happen. God says sin has a cost. Satan says you can get away with it. Every false gospel still carries that smell. Genesis 3:5 “For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.” Now he attacks God’s character. He makes God look selfish. Like God is withholding something good. Like obedience is keeping them small. Like sin is the path to enlightenment. That is the lie under most temptation. “God is holding out on you.” “God doesn’t want you happy.” “God knows you’ll become something more if you cross that line.” Same devil. Same mouth. Same poison. Then we hear Satan again in Job. Job 1:7 “And the LORD said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.” Satan is not pictured as lazy. He is moving. Watching. Searching. Peter says the same thing later: 1 Peter 5:8 “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.” Satan walks. Satan watches. Satan studies men. Job 1:9 “Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought?” There it is. The accuser speaks. He does not believe Job loves God. He believes Job only loves the benefits. That is Satan’s accusation against true worship. “You only serve God because He blesses you.” “You only praise Him because life is good.” “You only believe because it costs you nothing.” Satan hates sincere worship because he knows he will never have it again. Job 1:10 “Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side?” Satan admits something here. God had a hedge around Job. Around his house. Around what he had. Satan could see the hedge, but he could not cross it without permission. That should comfort every believer. The devil is real, but he is not sovereign. He is wicked, but he is not God. He is dangerous, but he is on a leash. Job 1:11 “But put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath, and he will curse thee to thy face.” That is the enemy’s goal. He wants suffering to turn into blasphemy. He wants pain to become accusation. He wants loss to make you curse the God who saved you. But Job did not curse God. Job 1:22 says: “In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly.” Satan was wrong. Then Satan speaks again. Job 2:2 “And the LORD said unto Satan, From whence comest thou? And Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.” Same answer. Same restless enemy. Still moving. Still looking. Still accusing. Job 2:4 “And Satan answered the LORD, and said, Skin for skin, yea, all that a man hath will he give for his life.” This is how Satan sees people. Selfish. Cowardly. Transactional. He believes man only cares about himself. He cannot understand love. He cannot understand worship. He cannot understand faith that remains after the gifts are gone. Job 2:5 “But put forth thine hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will curse thee to thy face.” Same goal again. Curse God. That is what he wants. He wants your sickness, loss, grief, pressure, and pain to open your mouth against the Lord. But Job still held on. Bruised, confused, hurting, scraping himself with potsherds, but still not giving Satan what he wanted. Then we hear Satan in the temptation of Christ. Matthew 4:3 “And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.” “If thou be the Son of God.” Satan goes after identity. The Father had just said: Matthew 3:17 “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” Then Satan comes right after that word. “If thou be the Son of God…” That is how he works. God speaks. Satan challenges. God affirms. Satan questions. God calls you His child. Satan says, “Are you really?” The temptation was not just about bread. Jesus was hungry after forty days of fasting. Satan tempted Him to use divine power outside the Father’s will. Meet a real need in a wrong way. That is still temptation. A real hunger. A wrong answer. Jesus answered with Scripture. Matthew 4:4 “It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.” Then Satan speaks again. Matthew 4:6 “And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee…” Now Satan quotes Scripture. Let that sink in. The devil can quote Bible. He quoted Psalm 91, but twisted the application. That is what false teachers do. They use Bible words with satanic handling. A verse ripped from truth can become a weapon. Jesus answered again with Scripture. Matthew 4:7 “It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.” Then Satan shows his real hunger. Matthew 4:9 “And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.” There it is. Worship. That is what he has always wanted. He wanted the throne in Isaiah 14. He wanted to be like the most High. He wanted glory that belongs to God alone. Now he stands before the Son of God and offers Him the kingdoms of the world without the suffering of the cross. A crown without Calvary. A kingdom without blood. A shortcut without obedience. That is satanic. Satan will offer you something that looks like elevation if it pulls you away from worshiping God. Jesus answered: Matthew 4:10 “Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.” That is how you answer temptation. With the Word. With worship. With obedience. Then Luke records this same temptation with another detail. Luke 4:6-7 “And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it. If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine.” Satan claims delegated authority over the kingdoms of this world. Jesus did not stop and say, “That isn’t true.” This lines up with what Jesus later calls him: John 12:31 “the prince of this world” John 14:30 “the prince of this world” 2 Corinthians 4:4 calls him: “the god of this world” That does not mean Satan owns creation. The earth is the LORD’S. But this fallen world system is under satanic influence. Its pride. Its lust. Its deception. Its hatred of Christ. Its counterfeit religion. Its obsession with power. That is his system. Then we get a direct satanic statement in Mark. Mark 5:7 “And cried with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of the most high God? I adjure thee by God, that thou torment me not.” This is not Satan himself, but a devil speaking through the possessed man. The devils know who Jesus is. They know His authority. They know judgment is coming. They are not atheists. They are terrified believers in the fact of God, but they are not saved. James 2:19 says: “the devils also believe, and tremble.” That is a warning. Knowing Jesus is real is not salvation. Bowing to Him as Lord matters. Then the devils speak again. Mark 5:9 “And he asked him, What is thy name? And he answered, saying, My name is Legion: for we are many.” Demons are personal. Organized. Numerous. Real. The Bible does not present evil as only a bad idea or a social problem. There are spiritual beings behind darkness. Ephesians 6:12 says: “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers…” Then they beg Jesus. Mark 5:12 “And all the devils besought him, saying, Send us into the swine, that we may enter into them.” They could not move without Christ’s permission. Again, the leash. Darkness is real, but Jesus is Lord. Then in Acts we hear a demon speak through a woman. Acts 16:17 “The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation.” What she said was technically true. But Paul still cast the spirit out. Why? Because Satan does not mind using true words if the source corrupts the witness. The devil does not get to advertise the Gospel. God does not need demonic endorsement. Truth coming from an unclean spirit is still unclean. Acts 19 gives another demonic statement. Acts 19:15 “And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye?” That verse should scare fake spiritual authority out of people. The sons of Sceva tried to use the name of Jesus like a formula. They had religion. They had words. They had no real authority. Demons know the difference. You cannot fake being in Christ in the spirit realm. Jesus I know. Paul I know. Who are ye?.. Then we see Satan’s voice through Peter. Matthew 16:22 “Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee.” Peter said the words, but Jesus identified the influence. Matthew 16:23 “But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan…” Why? Because Peter was trying to pull Jesus away from the cross. He probably thought he was being loyal. But any voice that tries to remove the cross is satanic in direction. No cross. No blood. No atonement. No resurrection. No salvation. That is why Jesus rebuked it so sharply. Then Revelation shows us the final spirit of Satan speaking through the end-time system. Revelation 13:4 “And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?” The dragon is Satan. The beast is the Antichrist. The world worships the dragon through the beast. That is where this thing is headed. Satan wanted worship in the beginning. He wanted worship from Christ in the wilderness. He gets worship from the world through the beast in Revelation. Same desire. Same rebellion. Then Revelation 12:10 gives us one of his main titles: “the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.” Satan accuses day and night. That is his ministry. Accusation. Condemnation. Slander. He accuses God to man in Genesis. He accuses man to God in Job. He accuses the brethren day and night in Revelation. But here is the answer: Revelation 12:11 “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony…” Not by self-esteem. By the blood of the Lamb. That is how Satan is overcome. When you study every recorded word from Satan and his kingdom, the pattern is clear. He questions the Word. “Yea, hath God said?” He contradicts the Word. “Ye shall not surely die.” He slanders God. “God is holding something back.” He accuses believers. “Doth Job fear God for nought?” He attacks identity. “If thou be the Son of God…” He twists Scripture. “For it is written…” He offers shortcuts. “All these things will I give thee…” He demands worship. “Fall down and worship me.” He fears judgment. “Art thou come hither to torment us before the time?” He recognizes true authority. “Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye?” That is the devil’s mouth. Same voice from Genesis to Revelation. Same pride. Same lies. Same hatred for God. Same hatred for man. Same hatred for the blood of Jesus Christ. But he loses. Genesis 3:15 promised it. The seed of the woman would bruise the serpent’s head. Calvary did it. Colossians 2:15 says Jesus spoiled principalities and powers. Revelation 20:10 tells us where Satan ends up: “And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone…” That is the end of the accuser. Don’t build doctrine from Satan’s mouth. Study it as a warning. Learn the pattern. Test every voice by Scripture. And when the enemy comes with doubt, accusation, temptation, fear, false Scripture, fake light, or counterfeit worship, answer the way Jesus answered: It is written. #MoreJoyMinistries
