A sword could reach the man in front of you. A Bible and a phone can reach somebody on the other side of the world.
Paul called Timothy “a good soldier of Jesus Christ.” That calling takes courage, discipline and obedience. It also means understanding who you’re fighting.
2 Timothy 2:3.
“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”
Ephesians 6:12 KJV.
The enemy works through deception, and lies now travel across the world in seconds. Christians have a responsibility to know Scripture and speak the truth.
God’s Word is the sword of the Spirit. Put that Word in the hands of a believer willing to study it, live by it and teach it, and that phone becomes a powerful tool for spreading the gospel.
Ephesians 6:17.
You can explain salvation to somebody thousands of miles away. Answer a question that has kept someone from opening a Bible. Teach a passage that somebody has spent years misunderstanding.
An ordinary man can do that from the phone in his pocket.
This is the Church’s watch before Jesus Christ returns. He gave His people the command to preach the gospel while they look for that blessed hope.
Mark 16:15. Titus 2:13.
The King is coming. Be found doing what He told you to do.
