PROPHECY CAME FROM GOD “Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.” 2 Peter 1:20–21 KJV The prophets weren’t writing down their best guesses. God moved them by the Holy Ghost to speak His words. The authority behind biblical prophecy belongs to God Himself. Peter’s point is about the source of prophecy. It never originated in a prophet’s own understanding or will. These men delivered what God gave them, sometimes without fully understanding how or when it would be fulfilled. First Peter 1:10–12 tells us they searched diligently into the very things they prophesied. Your opinion doesn’t determine what Scripture means. Neither does mine. Understanding it takes study, context, and comparing Scripture with Scripture. If your interpretation contradicts another passage, you’ve got more studying to do. “Thy word is truth.” John 17:17 KJV #MoreJoyMinistries
