RACHEL. SIMON. ISAIAS. Look at what these names mean. Rachel means ewe, a female sheep. Simon comes from the Hebrew name Simeon, associated with hearing. Isaias is a form of Isaiah, meaning the LORD is salvation. Brings a few Scriptures to mind? “For he is our God; and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. To day if ye will hear his voice, Harden not your heart” Psalm 95:7–8 KJV The sheep and hearing His voice are right there together. Jesus makes the connection even clearer. “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me” John 10:27 KJV Then Isaiah gives us this. “Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid” Isaiah 12:2 KJV People can argue over the storm names. The words of Jesus deserve our attention regardless. He said His sheep hear His voice and follow Him. With everything competing for your attention, how much time are you spending listening to the Shepherd? Open your Bible. Give His words your attention. Pray for the people facing these storms. The same Lord who knows His sheep is the One who saves them. #MoreJoyMinistries
