THE MILLENNIAL REIGN: (THIS LIFE IS TRAINING FOR THE NEXT ONE) A lot of Christians think the story ends with us getting taken to heaven and staying there forever like floating citizens in some endless spiritual waiting room. Jesus Christ is coming back to rule and reign on this earth. Not in theory. Not in a symbolic way. Literally. Publicly. Powerfully. The King will sit on His throne, the nations will be dealt with in righteousness, and His kingdom will fill the earth. And the saints will reign with Him. That part gets skipped too often. The Bible does not present believers as rescued nobodies with no future responsibility. It presents us as heirs with Christ. A kingdom people. A royal priesthood. Men and women who will share in His rule under His authority. Revelation 20:4 says they “lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.” Paul said in 1 Corinthians 6:2, “Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world?” In verse 3 he says, “Know ye not that we shall judge angels?” Jesus said in Luke 19 that faithfulness now connects to authority later. One servant was given authority over ten cities. Another over five. That was not random. Christ was showing that what a man does with what he has been given now matters in relation to what he will be entrusted with then. The Christian life is not pointless waiting. This life is training ground. Right now is not the kingdom in its full visible form, but it is preparation for it. Every act of obedience matters. Every hidden sacrifice matters. Every time you stay faithful when nobody claps matters. Every time you tell the truth, serve humbly, resist sin, handle responsibility, endure suffering, and stay loyal to Christ, God is doing more than getting you through a hard season. He is shaping you for rule. That may sound strange to some people, but it is straight Bible. God has always prepared His servants before publicly placing them. Joseph was trained in betrayal, slavery, and prison before he ever governed in Egypt. David was trained in the field, in caves, and in warfare before he ever sat on the throne. Moses was trained in obscurity before leading a nation. Even the apostles were shaped through testing, failure, correction, and endurance before greater stewardship was placed in their hands. Why would we think it is different for the saints who will reign with Christ? This present life reveals what kind of people we really are. Can you be trusted? Can you stay faithful without applause? Can you handle little things well? Can you stand truthfully under pressure? Can you endure hardship without quitting? Can you submit to God now, or do you only want authority later? A lot of people want crowns, but they do not want crosses. They want future rule, but they do not want present discipline. They want to talk about reigning with Christ, but they do not want to be conformed to Christ. Scripture never separates those things. Second Timothy 2:12 says, “If we suffer, we shall also reign with him.” Notice that. Suffering now. Reigning later. This age is full of testing because God is not just saving people from hell. He is forming a people for His Son. A bride for the King. Co-heirs who will share in His kingdom under His perfect rule. That does not mean we earn salvation by works. Salvation is by grace through faith. Always. Completely. Fully. Christ alone saves. But reward, responsibility, and placement in the kingdom are tied to faithfulness. Not everyone is handed the same measure of stewardship. Jesus made that plain. Luke 19. Matthew 25. 1 Corinthians 3. Revelation 2. Revelation 20. The theme keeps showing up. Faithfulness now connects to responsibility later. So when you are stuck in a job you do not like, fighting temptation, carrying pressure, serving your family, trying to stay clean in a dirty world, and wondering whether any of it matters, remember this: You are not just passing time. You are being tested. You are being shaped. You are learning obedience. You are learning stewardship. You are learning endurance. You are learning how to live under the authority of the King before you reign with the King. This life is not the final chapter. It is boot camp for the kingdom. The world thinks power belongs to the loud, the rich, the political, the violent, and the self-exalting. God says the faithful will inherit. The meek shall inherit the earth. The saints shall judge the world. The bride will reign with the Bridegroom. The King is coming, and His people are not heading toward retirement. They are heading toward responsibility in a kingdom that will never end. So live like this life counts. Because it does. #MoreJoyMinistries
