THE BIBLE VS. THE QURAN: (THEY CANNOT BOTH BE TRUE) A lot of people today talk like Christianity and Islam are basically the same thing with different labels. They are not. They do not teach the same Jesus, they do not preach the same gospel, and they do not offer the same way of salvation. This is not a small disagreement. It is a direct contradiction. The Bible says Jesus is the Son of God. The Quran denies it. The Bible says Jesus was crucified. The Quran denies it. The Bible says Jesus died for sins and rose again. The Quran denies it. The Bible says salvation is by grace through faith in Christ. Islam teaches submission, deeds, and final judgment without the cross of Christ as the basis of atonement. So no, these are not two versions of the same truth. They clash at the very center. John 14:6 says, “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” That does not leave room for Muhammad. That does not leave room for another covenant after Christ. That does not leave room for a later book correcting the Son of God. The Bible presents Jesus as far more than a prophet. John 1:1 says, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” John 1:14 says, “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us…” That is the biblical Jesus. Not a mere messenger. Not just a teacher. Not simply a miracle worker. God manifest in the flesh. 1 Timothy 3:16 says, “God was manifest in the flesh…” Islam rejects that. The Quran denies that. So the conflict is immediate. Both cannot be right. The Bible openly declares Jesus as the Son. Matthew 3:17 says, “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son…” 1 John 2:23 says, “Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father…” That shuts down the claim that rejecting the Son still leads to the true God. According to Scripture, denying the Son means you do not have the Father. That is not my opinion. That is Bible. Now go to the cross. This is where Islam falls apart completely when measured against Scripture. The death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ is not some side doctrine in Christianity. It is the center of the gospel. 1 Corinthians 15:3–4 says, “Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures… and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.” If Christ did not die for sins, there is no gospel. If Christ was not crucified, there is no atonement. If Christ did not rise, there is no victory over death. Islam denies the cross as Christianity teaches it. That alone puts it under the condemnation of Galatians 1. Galatians 1:8 says, “But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you… let him be accursed.” Notice that carefully. Any other gospel. Not a slightly adjusted gospel. Not a culturally adapted gospel. Not a revised gospel six hundred years later. Any other gospel. Islam presents another gospel because it presents another Jesus. 2 Corinthians 11:4 warns, “For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus…” And that is exactly what Islam does. A Jesus who is not the Son of God is another Jesus. A Jesus who did not die for sins is another Jesus. A Jesus who is not the final revelation of God is another Jesus. A Jesus stripped of deity is another Jesus. And another Jesus cannot save. The Old Testament also destroys the Islamic denial of the cross. Isaiah 53 says of the coming Servant, “He was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities…” Psalm 22 gives details that line up with crucifixion in stunning detail. Then the Gospels record the crucifixion. The epistles explain the meaning of the crucifixion. The resurrection confirms the victory of the crucifixion. The Bible does not whisper the cross. It shouts it. So when a later religion comes along and says that did not happen the way Christians say, it is not correcting the Bible. It is contradicting it. And once you contradict the cross, you gut the gospel. Now look at salvation. The Bible says mankind is guilty before a holy God. Romans 3:23 says, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” Romans 6:23 says, “For the wages of sin is death…” Then Scripture gives the answer. Ephesians 2:8–9 says, “For by grace are ye saved through faith… not of works…” That is one of the greatest dividing lines between biblical Christianity and Islam. The Bible teaches that salvation is a gift purchased by Christ. Islam leaves man under a system of works, obedience, and uncertainty. In Christianity, Christ says, “It is finished.” In Islam, the sinner keeps trying. John 19:30 says, “It is finished.” The Greek word is tetelestai. Paid in full. Completed. Accomplished. That is the glory of the gospel. Jesus did not merely make salvation possible. He finished the work necessary to save all who trust in Him. That is why Romans 5:1 says, “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” Peace with God. Not maybe. Not hopefully. Not if the scales tip your way in the end. Peace now through Christ. Islam cannot offer that because Islam rejects the finished work of Christ. And that is why the systems are not just different. They are opposed. Hebrews 1:1–2 says, “God… hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son…” The Son is God’s final and supreme revelation. So the idea that Muhammad came later with the real correction collapses immediately. God already spoke by His Son. Jesus is not waiting for a later prophet to explain Him. Jesus does not need a seventh-century revision. The apostles did not misunderstand Him. The church was not left in darkness for six hundred years waiting for Islam to fix the record. That claim is absurd on its face. The New Testament documents were circulating in the first century. The death and resurrection of Christ were being preached from the beginning. Believers were dying for that testimony early, not centuries later after legends had time to grow. Christianity is rooted in the apostolic witness to the risen Christ. Islam comes later and denies the center of that witness. That is not continuation. That is contradiction. Now deal with the words of Jesus Himself. John 8:58 says, “Before Abraham was, I am.” John 10:30 says, “I and my Father are one.” In Mark 14:61–64, Jesus answered the high priest in a way that got Him condemned for blasphemy because they knew exactly what He was claiming. So the line that Jesus never claimed deity does not survive contact with Scripture. It is false. Jesus claimed what no mere prophet could claim. He forgave sins. He accepted worship. He claimed unity with the Father. He said He came from heaven. He said He would judge the world. He predicted His death and resurrection. That is not Islam’s Isa. That is the Christ of Scripture. Acts 4:12 says, “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” Not Muhammad. Not Moses. Not Mary. Not religious effort. Not sincerity. Not law. Not submission apart from the Son. Only Jesus Christ. This is why the “same God” argument falls apart so badly. A system that denies the Son does not lead to the Father. A system that denies the cross does not offer atonement. A system that denies the resurrection does not offer victory over death. A system that replaces grace with religious striving does not preach the gospel. The Bible and the Quran cannot both be true. If the Bible is true, then the Quran is false where it denies Christ. If Jesus is the Son of God, Islam is false. If Jesus died for sins and rose again, Islam is false. If salvation is by grace through faith in the finished work of Christ, Islam is false. And Scripture is crystal clear on all three. This is why getting Jesus right is everything. Not almost right. Not prophet-level right. Not respectful-language right. Right. Because a false Jesus cannot save. A false gospel cannot save. A false book cannot overrule the Word of God. 1 John 5:13 says, “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life…” Know. That is what Christ gives. Certainty. Peace. A finished redemption. A real Savior. A risen Lord. So no, the Bible and the Quran are not two roads to the same destination. One gives you the Son of God crucified and risen. The other does not. One gives you grace through the finished work of Christ. The other does not. One gives you the gospel. The other gives you a denial of it. And when eternity is on the line, that difference is everything. #MoreJoyMinistries
