BLESSED IS THE NATION WHOSE GOD IS THE LORD “Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.” Psalm 33:12 KJV Happy 4th of July. Before this country had fireworks, flags, cookouts, and parades, it had men willing to sign their names to treason because they believed liberty came from somewhere higher than a king. The Declaration of Independence didn’t say our rights come from Congress. It didn’t say our rights come from culture. It said we are “endowed by our Creator with certain unalienable Rights.” That line alone tells you something about the soil this nation grew out of. Were the Founders perfect men? Absolutely not. I wouldn’t defend every belief, every decision, or every doctrine they held..But I also won’t pretend America was born in some Godless vacuum. Thomas Jefferson was only 33 when he wrote the Declaration. John Adams was 40 when he stood for independence. George Washington was 43 when he took command of the Continental Army. James Madison was 36 at the Constitutional Convention. These weren’t dusty old dudes. These were young men carrying weight most men today would fold under. They understood something America is forgetting fast: Freedom without God turns into pride. Liberty without morality turns into lawlessness. Rules without relationship turns into rebellion. Rights without a Creator become permissions handed out by politicians. That’s why Psalm 33:12 is still so necessary. “Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD…” America’s blessing was never in her money, military, land, or politics. The blessing was always God. Turn from Him, and the foundation starts cracking. Happy Independence Day. Jesus Christ is still King. #MoreJoyMinistries
