Scripture states that after Jesus rules for 1,000 years, Satan will be released for a short time. Many believers wonder why God would allow this to happen. While some mysteries belong only to God according to Deuteronomy 29:29 and Romans 11:33-36, the Bible provides clear reasons for this event. During the millennium, the world will experience perfect justice and peace under the reign of Christ. The survivors of the tribulation will enter the kingdom in mortal bodies and populate the earth. Their children will still be born with a fallen nature and must eventually choose to follow the Lord personally. When Satan is released, he will deceive a multitude like the sand of the sea. Even after a millennium of perfect conditions, many will still rebel. This proves that the core problem of humanity is not our environment, but our heart as described in Jeremiah 17:9. Christ’s goodness will be evident throughout the millennial age. At the end, God will allow this final test and then show zero tolerance for any further rebellion. Fire will fall from heaven, the revolt will end instantly, and Satan will be cast into the lake of fire forever. This clears the way for the eternal state described in Revelation 20:11-15. Satan has always been an enemy characterized by deception and hatred as seen in John 8:44 and John 10:10. This final rebellion exposes his nature and confirms his doom once and for all. Believers can take courage knowing that Satan is merely a created being who is entirely powerless before God and utterly defeated according to 1 John 4:4. Michael Pearl notes that just as God allowed Satan into Eden, permitted Jesus to be tempted, and allows us to face trials today, He uses these moments to reveal our hearts. He builds character and separates the genuine from the false. Without the possibility of resistance, there is no true overcoming, and without a choice, there is no real love. The millennium concludes with this final test to reveal who truly loves the Lord. God releases Satan not to create chaos, but to expose it. He does not aim to ruin humanity, but to reveal the state of the human heart. He does not weaken the kingdom of Christ, but brings it to completion. When this final rebellion ends, righteousness will reign forever. #MoreJoyMinistries
