THE BIBLICAL TIMELINE The Bible tells us exactly where history started, why the world is broken, and where all of this is headed. God created the heavens and the earth. Adam sinned, death entered the world, and the human race went downhill fast. The Flood came in Noah’s day. Mankind survived, multiplied, and rebelled again at Babel. God called Abraham and promised to build a nation through him. From Abraham came Isaac, Jacob, the twelve tribes, and Israel. Israel received the Law, the land, the covenants, and the promise of the Messiah. Jesus fulfilled that promise. He came through the line of Abraham and David. He was rejected, crucified for our sins, buried, and raised from the dead. We are now living in the Church Age, commonly called the Age of Grace. The Gospel is going throughout the world, and everyone who trusts Christ is placed into His body. This age ends with the Rapture. “For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout... and the dead in Christ shall rise first” 1 Thessalonians 4:16 KJV The dead in Christ rise. Living believers are caught up with them. The Church meets the Lord in the air. Do not confuse the Rapture with the Second Coming. At the Rapture, Jesus takes His Church out. At the Second Coming, Jesus comes all the way back to earth and takes over. Daniel’s seventieth week begins when the coming ruler confirms the covenant in Daniel 9:27. That final week lasts seven years. Halfway through, the Antichrist breaks the covenant, stops the sacrifice, and commits the abomination of desolation. That starts the Great Tribulation. Revelation 6 through 18 describes what happens as God judges this world. War, famine, deception, persecution, and judgment hit a world that wanted nothing to do with Him. By the end, the armies of the nations gather against Jerusalem. Armageddon is not mankind winning its war against God. It is mankind showing up for a fight it cannot survive. “And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True” Revelation 19:11 KJV Jesus Christ returns as King. The Antichrist and False Prophet are cast into the lake of fire. Satan is bound. Christ rules this earth for one thousand years. After the thousand years, Satan is released and somehow convinces mankind to rebel one more time. God ends it immediately. The Great White Throne judgment follows. The lost stand before God, the books are opened, and everyone not found written in the book of life is cast into the lake of fire. But that is not the end of the Bible. John sees a new heaven, a new earth, and New Jerusalem coming down from God. Genesis shows us how sin ruined creation. Revelation shows us Jesus taking it back. History is not headed toward whatever mankind decides to do next. It is headed toward the return of Jesus Christ. #MoreJoyMinistries
