THE GREATEST LOVE EVER: The world decorates love with flowers, candles, and soft words. God proved love with wood, nails, and blood. Long before there were wedding vows or Valentine cards, before sin ever entered the garden, there was already a plan. Scripture calls Him the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. This was not reaction. This was intention. Jesus knew the betrayal was coming. He knew the nails would pierce His hands. He knew the crown would press into His brow. He knew His closest friends would scatter in fear. And He came anyway. That is love. Love is not measured by comfort. It is measured by sacrifice chosen in full awareness of the cost. In the upper room, He broke bread with hands that would soon be pierced. He washed the feet of men who would soon abandon Him. Looking into their eyes, fully aware of their weakness, He said, “This is My body, given for you.” Given. Not taken. Not forced. Given. In Gethsemane, under the crushing weight of what was ahead, His sweat fell like drops of blood. He could have called angels. He could have walked away. He could have chosen Himself. Instead, He chose you. On a hill outside Jerusalem, stretched between heaven and earth, the Son of God absorbed the wrath that justice demanded and love was willing to endure. When He cried, “It is finished,” the Greek word was Tetelestai.. paid in full. That is the greatest love ever shown. Not because we loved Him first. Not because we deserved it. But because He decided we were worth redeeming. On the cross, love was not a feeling. Love was a Person. And His name is Jesus. - More Joy Ministries - Tony Campbell
