THE LAMB WITH SEVEN HORNS AND SEVEN EYES: Revelation 5:6 gives us one of the strongest images in the whole Bible. John says he saw: “a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.” Revelation 5:6 KJV It’s not weird symbolism just to sound mysterious. It’s Hebrew. It’s deliberate. And it’s loaded. First, the Lamb. All through Scripture, the lamb points to sacrifice. John the Baptist said: “Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.” John 1:29 KJV By the time we get to Revelation 5, that Lamb has been crucified and risen. John doesn’t see some weak little animal. He sees a Lamb “as it had been slain,” standing in the middle of heaven’s throne room. Slain, but standing. Crucified, but alive. The cross didn’t end Him. It revealed Him. Now look at the seven horns. In the Old Testament, horns picture strength, authority, and kingship. Psalm 18:2 calls the LORD “the horn of my salvation.” In Daniel 7, horns represent kings and ruling powers. A horn isn’t decoration. It’s dominion. And seven speaks of fullness, completion, perfection. So seven horns means complete power. Perfect authority. Nothing missing. Nothing outside His rule. Jesus said it plainly: “All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.” Matthew 28:18 KJV Not partial authority. Not temporary control. Not a throne He has to fight to keep. All power. Then come the seven eyes. The verse explains them: “the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.” That ties back to Zechariah 4:10, where the eyes of the LORD run “to and fro through the whole earth.” Eyes speak of sight, knowledge, awareness, and judgment. Seven eyes means perfect sight. Complete knowledge. Nothing hidden. Nothing overlooked. Hebrews 4:13 says: “all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.” So Revelation 5 gives us one picture with three massive truths: Perfect sacrifice. Perfect authority. Perfect knowledge. The Lamb who was slain now holds complete dominion and sees all things. His power isn’t separate from the cross. His authority is rooted in redemption. Heaven worships Him in Revelation 5 because He’s worthy. And here’s the part that hits hard. John hears about a Lion. But when he turns, he sees a Lamb. Victory came through suffering. Dominion came through obedience. The throne belongs to the One who shed His blood. The One who rules the universe still carries scars. So when life feels unstable, remember who’s on the throne. The One who sees everything and holds all authority is the same One who gave His life for you. That’s sovereign love. #MoreJoyMinistries
