Who Are the Tribulation Saints? Tribulation saints are men and women who come to faith in Jesus Christ during the Tribulation period, after the Rapture of the Church. “Here is the perseverance of the saints who keep the commandments of God and their faith in Jesus.” — Revelation 14:12 They are called saints because the Bible uses that word for all believers, not just the Church. How Are They Different from the Church? 1. They Are Not Part of the Church (the Bride of Christ) The Church is removed before God’s wrath (1 Thessalonians 1:10; Revelation 3:10). The word “church” disappears after Revelation 3 and doesn’t reappear until Revelation 22. Tribulation believers appear after the Church is already in heaven (Revelation 7). 2. They Come to Faith After the Rapture Many are saved through: The witness of the 144,000 sealed Israelites (Revelation 7) Angelic proclamation of the Gospel (Revelation 14:6) Fulfilled prophecies and global judgment pointing to Christ “These are the ones who come out of the great tribulation, and they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.” — Revelation 7:14 3. They Are Heavily Persecuted They refuse the mark of the beast (Revelation 13:16–17) Many are martyred for their faith (Revelation 6:9–11; 20:4) “They loved not their lives even unto death.” — Revelation 12:11 Who Specifically Are Included? 1. Jewish Believers Israel turns back to God (Zechariah 12:10; Romans 11:26) The 144,000 are Jewish evangelists sealed by God 2. Gentile Believers A “great multitude which no one could count” from every nation (Revelation 7:9) Saved during the Tribulation, not before it Their Destiny Many are killed but resurrected to reign with Christ (Revelation 20:4) Survivors enter the Millennial Kingdom in mortal bodies (Matthew 25:31–46) They are rewarded for faithfulness, not part of the Church but still redeemed Why This Matters The Tribulation saints show: God’s mercy continues even in judgment Salvation is still available—but at great cost The urgency of trusting Christ now, before that time “Now is the day of salvation.” — 2 Corinthians 6:2 - More Joy Ministries
