IRAN IS HANDING OUT IODINE TABLETS

A nuclear standoff looks different when your family lives down the road from the facility. The Times reports that Iran is distributing iodine tablets to communities near nuclear sites as officials prepare for possible attacks. An Iranian health official described handing them out within a few kilometers of those facilities during wartime. This has been going on for a while. Back in April, officials reported that 180,000 tablets had been distributed in Bushehr, home to Iran’s nuclear power plant. That program reportedly began before the June 2025 war. Calling them “anti-radiation tablets” makes them sound more powerful than they are. Potassium iodide helps protect the thyroid from radioactive iodine. It cannot protect the whole body from radiation or make someone safe from nuclear fallout. Handing them out does not prove a nuclear attack is about to happen. It does show what officials are preparing for, and what families near these facilities have to think about. Jesus spoke directly about living with reports of war. “And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.” Matthew 24:6 KJV. That same verse mentions the wars, tells us not to be troubled, and warns that the end is not yet. We need to read all of it. Pay attention to what’s happening. Pray for the people living there. Remember that civilians in Iran need the same Savior we do. Christ died for their sins too, and the gospel still needs to reach them. #MoreJoyMinistries
