Spiritual Gifts: (God’s Design for His Church) The Holy Spirit equips every believer with unique gifts — not for personal glory, but to build up the body of Christ and reveal God’s power. Scripture gives us three main lists of spiritual gifts, each highlighting different aspects of how the Spirit works among us. 📖 Romans 12:6–8 — Daily Service Gifts: These are the gifts that keep the church alive and healthy day by day: - Prophecy — declaring God’s truth boldly. - Serving — meeting practical needs with love. - Teaching — explaining Scripture clearly and faithfully. - Encouraging — strengthening faith and comforting the weary. - Giving — sharing resources with joy. - Leadership — guiding with wisdom and grace. - Mercy — showing compassion to the suffering. Romans reminds us that the Spirit empowers ordinary acts of service to become extraordinary when done in Christ. 🔥 1 Corinthians 12:4–11 — Power Gifts: These gifts demonstrate the Spirit’s supernatural power: - Word of Wisdom - Word of Knowledge - Faith - Healing - Miraculous Powers - Prophecy - Discernment of Spirits - Tongues - Interpretation of Tongues Here Paul emphasizes that the Spirit manifests in diverse, powerful ways — yet always for the common good. These gifts show that God’s presence is not theoretical but active and alive. 🕊️ 1 Corinthians 12:28 — Support Gifts: Paul adds another layer: - Healings - Helps - Governments (Leadership/Administration) - Diversities of Tongues These highlight the Spirit’s provision for both practical support and supernatural witness. 📌 Ephesians 4:11 — Equipping Offices: While not “gifts” in the same sense, Paul lists roles that equip the church: Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors, Teachers. These offices remind us that leadership is itself a Spirit-given calling. - What It All Means: - Romans → Service gifts that sustain the church’s daily life. - Corinthians → Power gifts that reveal God’s supernatural presence. - Ephesians → Offices that equip and organize the church. Together, they paint a picture of a Spirit-filled community where every believer has a role, every gift matters, and Christ is glorified through diversity. 💡 Reflection: Spiritual gifts are not about status — they are about service. Whether you are teaching, encouraging, giving, or discerning spirits, your gift is vital to the body of Christ. - More Joy Ministries
