The Heritage of the Righteous

Psalm 37:7-9 “Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for Him; Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, Because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass. 8 Cease from anger, and forsake wrath; Do not fret—it only causes harm. 9 For evildoers shall be cut off; But those who wait on the LORD, They shall inherit the earth.” David wrote these words to comfort those overwhelmed by the conduct of evildoers. While the wicked seem to prosper, their success is a flash in the pan. They are like grass that quickly fades into a fleeting shadow. Godly men are called to hold fast to the faith. We must trust in the Lord and delight in the things of God. Our hope is in Christ, and His justice will eventually shine like the noonday sun. We are commanded to be still and wait patiently for the Lord to act. This is not a sulky silence or a glum resignation. It is a purposeful patience rooted in trusting His Word and abiding in His love. When you rest in His presence, the peace of God guards your heart. Do not let the schemes of the wicked provoke your anger or envy. The Lord will handle them in His own time. Commit to being still before the Lord today. He will vindicate His children and ensure that those who wait on Him inherit the earth. #MoreJoyMinistries
