Proverbs 12:1 says, "Whoever loves instruction loves knowledge, but he who hates correction is stupid." Wise men answer yes when asked if they love to be taught or corrected. They value being told they are wrong and appreciate guidance on how things ought to be done. They are genuinely thankful for the reminders to change their path. Growth in knowledge requires submission. You must humble yourself to admit someone else knows more than you do. This admission of inferiority is difficult, as most people lack the necessary humility. Only noble souls willingly submit to the teaching of another. You must also admit your own ignorance or error. You might have held a false position or even taught others incorrectly in the past. Admitting these mistakes is rare because most people prioritize their reputations above the truth. Progress requires change, which is often painful. Changing means letting others see your previous mistakes, altering your long-standing habits, and justifying your new direction. The cost of change is too high for the average man, but it is essential for those seeking wisdom. Jesus Christ wants to perfect you, but He requires your readiness to receive instruction and your love for reproof. If you are humble, He will provide teachers to increase your knowledge just as He did for the Ethiopian eunuch, Saul of Tarsus, and Cornelius. Acts 8:26-40; 9:1-22; 10:1-6 #MoreJoyMinistries
