CAN GOD SEE ME RIGHT NOW?
That is one of the most personal questions a child can ask.
Because now we are not just talking about where God is. We are talking about whether God sees me.
And the Bible says yes.
God sees everything.
Proverbs 15:3 says,
“The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.”
Nothing escapes Him. No room is too dark. No place is too hidden. No child is forgotten. God sees all of it.
But this truth needs to be taught carefully.
A child can hear “God sees everything” in two different ways.
They can hear it as comfort.
Or they can hear it as fear.
If all they hear is, “God sees everything you do,” then God can start sounding like He is only watching to catch them doing something wrong.
That is not the full picture.
Yes, God sees sin. Yes, nothing is hidden from Him. A child should learn early that you cannot hide sin from God just because you hid it from Mom or Dad.
But the God who sees sin also sees tears.
He sees when you are scared.
He sees when you cry.
He sees when nobody else notices.
He sees when you pray.
He sees when you feel alone.
Psalm 33:13–15 says,
“The LORD looketh from heaven; he beholdeth all the sons of men… he considereth all their works.”
And in Genesis 16:13, Hagar said,
“Thou God seest me.”
That is one of the sweetest statements in Scripture.
Not just, “God sees the world.”
Not just, “God sees nations.”
God sees me.
So if a child asks, “Can God see me in my room?”
Yes.
“At school?”
Yes.
“At church?”
Yes.
“Under my blanket?”
Yes.
Not because God is spying like some creepy watcher, but because He is God. He is present. He is aware. He is never gone.
Hebrews 4:13 says,
“Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight.”
Nobody disappears from God’s view.
That should humble us, because God sees our lying, selfishness, rebellion, cruelty, and disobedience. But it should also comfort us, because God also sees pain, fear, injustice, loneliness, and tears.
So when a child asks, “Can God see me right now?” the answer is simple:
Yes. God sees you right now.
He sees all things perfectly. Nothing is hidden from Him. And if you belong to Him, that truth is not only a warning.
It is a comfort.
The world can make people feel invisible.
But nobody is invisible to God.
God loves you too much to take His eyes off of you.
